Amanda Jensen-Doss, Ph.D.

I am so happy to have the opportunity to serve as Division 53’s Member-at-Large for Science and Practice. Division 53 has long been one of my most important professional homes, in large part due to its longstanding commitment to integrating the science and practice of clinical child and adolescent psychology. With the launch of and the new web-based trainings available through the site, this is particularly exciting time to be a member of Division 53. I have served the Division in the past through my role as a member of its Committee on Evidence Based Practice and as its Website Editor. I am excited to be serving in this new role.

In her last newsletter posting, Kathryn Grant told you about the board’s plans to create an online Find a Therapist Service. Continuing her work in this regard will be my first task as MAL. We have been working on making some decisions about how such a service would work, including who should be listed, the types of information that should be provided in the database, and how best to capture the types of evidence-based treatments clinicians are delivering. We are very interested in your feedback and ideas about this issue, so please contact me at with your thoughts.

In future newsletters, please look for updates about the activities of the Dissemination Project Evaluation Committee. This committee is evaluating the effectiveness of our online CE programs available at

I look forward to serving as your MAL for Science and Practice. Please do not hesitate to contact me with ideas related to how the Division might continue to bridge the gap between the science and practice of clinical child and adolescent psychology.
